Hi Avinash,

Which workflow template do you use?

You can compare workflow log in those 2 cases. Please share your findings.

Does it happen on everyone's PC's?

What happens if you select the Windows XPS driver?

What happens if you load Word or a PDF and try to print?

Ludek,

You need more coffee.... that is not the KBA I suggest he download....

Although that is a good one.

If you can get to mine then it has a sample app attached to it to see if it will work using the WPF viewer.

Hi Martin,

I know you said you've checked the environment variables. Could you humour me nonetheless and post the output of SET from a command window. The path to your Oracle Client should be present.

Cheers,

Hi Bharath,

This is a useful gem. It seems that I have missed this and presumably others in the documentation I read. Can you refer me to which document I would find this in.

Thanks

Re: Oracle db restore

Hello Srinu,

It's not very clear what your problem (other than the fact that you want to restore) is. You say "it's going to crash". What exactly do you mean by that ?

I suppose the most obvious question is going to be, do you have a safe backup to restore to and what tool did you use to backup.

With at least that info I'm sure someone can try and help.

Hi,

You'll remember the answers to these questions a lot better (through the exam and beyond!) if you research them yourself.

If we just give you the answers, you'd have to simply memorize them. What's the point of that?

cheers

It is only installed on one PC. the printer dialogue opens perfectly with any other application such as word, pdf etc. While we are in crystal reports software, either you click on print or page setup, it takes forever to load the dialogue box(interface).

NOT IN clause HANA SQL performance question

0
0

Suppose I have two column store tables - a large fact table (FACT) with let's say 10M rows, and a dimension table (DIM) with 1K rows.  The two tables are joined on some arbitrary key, let's say PRODUCT_ID.

Which query would perform better?

SELECT     FACT.*
FROM     FACT
WHERE     FACT.PRODUCT_ID NOT IN ('A', 'B', 'C')

or

SELECT     FACT.*
FROM     FACT INNER JOIN DIM ON          FACT.PRODUCT_ID = DIM.PRODUCT_ID
WHERE     DIM.PRODUCT_ID NOT IN ('A', 'B', 'C')

In other words, is it faster to perform the NOT IN clause on the small dimension table and then join to the large fact table, or simply to perform the NOT IN clause directly on the large fact table?  Or is there no difference?  Assume no secondary indexes have been added to the tables other than primary keys, where PRODUCT_ID is the primary key of the DIM table and PRODUCT_ID is part of a compound primary key of the FACT table.

Also, does the situation change if say our FACT table is no longer one table, but a calculation view which joins several transaction tables together to create a fact view before being used in the above scenarios?

Cheers,

Chris.

Anyone tried to install SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.40 SP8 Developer Edition on IBM Linux 6.0 Red Hat Enterprise edition ?

Anyone tried to install SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.40 SP8 Developer Edition on IBM Linux 6.0 Red Hat Enterprise edition ?

I have just finished installing the same on an Ubuntu 7.10 desktop, which ended with success and it seems stable. For this installation I was able to follow the "A Step by Step Guide for Linux Newbies"  by Thea Hillenbrand.

For IBM Linx 6.0 however there are some differences:

(1) How can I check if CSH Berkeley Unix C Shell, that is required is installed and active ? When I Go to Add/Remove and from here search for CSH, I do see that the CSH library seems to be installed on the computer, but how can I check it

(2) The same question I will ask for SSH. But for SSH I do see that the SSHD service is enabled but has status  "This service is being refreshed right now! Even after 30min the status is the same.

==> After several changes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and using the commands

==> chkconfig --level 35 sshd on

==>service sshd start

all commands as root I did succeed getting SSH started, which now means that I can use WINscp from remote desktop, this bullet is solved

(3) Which unrar tools and from where can I download that, as I can't find it under add/remove software

==> After a while I found the RAR application after going into system software sources and extend to use extra packages for enterprise linux 6, so this bullet is solved.

(4) As SAP Netweaver require Libuuid, but it looked like is was not active. I found SAP Note 1391070, in which I found a script that was able to check if Libuuid was installed and active. The script said no uuid. Via add/remove software I found  "Heaper daemon to guanrantee uniqueness o time based UUIDD's" this one I installed and run the check script again. Now the UUIDD was ok and running. Executing su uuidd I got the message that UUID was already running.

==> Bullet solved

Best regards

Benny

Go to SPRO path:  SPRO > IMG > Quality Management > Quality planning > Basic data > Catalog > Define catalog Types

Check the following setting for your catalog, say for Catalog '1'  .

Capture.JPG

This tick should be there.

Also check these things

  • Whether all the CodeDroups (created in QS41) are in Released status?
  • Are you trying for same Catalog (like '1') at both the places? i.e., QS41 and QS51?
  • If nothing is left for checking then,  look into SAP notes 1078292 and 1091604 in this context.

PA Document is not generated at billing

Hi

I'm testing a sales order with strategy group 20 (standard requirement type KE).

  1. Create a sales order (OR)
  2. Convert the planned order to a production order
  3. Confirm the production order
  4. Settlement
  5. Outbound delivery LF against the sales order
  6. Billing F2

Everything is fine except there is no COPA document posted at billing. I have tried to transferred the amount manually in KE4S but it's saying "this billing is not profit-related". I'm checking KE4R / KE4U etc. but it seems the entries are all fine... not sure where I'm missing something

Re: Multiple rows update in backend.

Hi Amol,

submitBatch is a method of your model like below:

oModel.submitBatch() this you need to write in your view's controller.

Go through below link

JsDoc Report - SAP UI development Toolkit for HTML5 - API Reference - sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel

You need to write this code of making

For making data to send to Service you need to create object you can do this as below :

this aa,bb,cc are the values which you have taken from frontend in View as below:

// Reading values from frontend form as below

var aaVal = sap.ui.getCore().byId("FNM").getValue();

var bbVal = sap.ui.getCore().byId("LNM").getValue();

info1={FNM:aaVal ,LNM:bbVal}

info2={FNM:'aaVal1',LNM:'bbVal2'}

var FULLDATA= [];

// now pushing your data to object to send to Server

    FULLDATA.push( oModel.createBatchOperation("USERINFO", "PUT", info1) );

    FULLDATA.push( oModel.createBatchOperation("USERINFO", "PUT", info2) );

// Above you can use PUT or POST

<HTTP METHOD> we need to use eighter PUT or POST method.

now your data is available in FULLDATA array we just need to send it to Gateway Service.

now we will submit these changes:

oModel.addBatchChangeOperations(FULLDATA);

oModel.submitBatch(function() {

  sap.ui.commons.MessageBox.alert("Record Updated Successfully!", '', "Success");

}, function() {

  sap.ui.commons.MessageBox.alert("Record Update Error!", '', "Error");

});

oModel.refresh();

now in DPC_EXT method inside UPDATE_ENTITYSET you need to read this data and just call ABAP Modify statement. I can not recall exact table parameter but every EntitySet method is having Table parameter which contains all these values which you send to gateway from Frontend.

Thanks-

Abhishek

Re: Advice for unique client copy requirement for HANA data

Hi Abe,

I am answering your questions based on some working knowledge and understanding of SLO Tools I have.

TDMS: TDMS should not used to build productive systems and the whole purpose of this product is build test systems and there are different selection criteria's possible to build the test systems. It also offers some predefined content for certain SAP business areas like HR, Manufacturing etc., Yes it primarily uses RFC's to read and write data, the landscape needs to be defined for Sender, Receiver and the Central Systems. Usually the TDMS software is installed on a SAP Solution Manager(Cental System). The tool also have inbuilt scrambling function that can be used to scramble the data.

SAP BODS: This ETL tool can connect to any database using the database connection and perform the Extraction, Transformation and Loading. For Loading to SAP Systems you might need to use any of the SAP loading methods like ALE/IDOCS, BAPI, DI, Function Module etc...

For loading to any database its more like table to table insert/updates using SQL commands. The tool also has lots of inbuilt packages: Ex: Address cleansing.

SAP SLT: It has the benefit of data replication from SAP to SAP, SAP to Non-SAP Systems(Database), Non SAP(Database) to SAP Systems.

SLT uses ADBC(ABAP Database Connection) to talk to different databases. Performance is not an issue here as the tool can handle volumes and parallelization is an option for data extraction, transformation and load.

The SLT tool can be used for data replication to different databases using database trigger technology(You may need to check the databases supported here).

SLT can be also be used for data migration from Legacy database to SAP using the inbuilt MWB framework. SLT is installed on an ABAP Stack:  Refer to the attached link for installing SLT: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3670842

As the SLT uses the SLO's MWB framework which has lots of inbuilt functionalities for data transfer monitoring and control, reprocessing the failed jobs etc..,The development effort using SLT is comparatively less as the framework takes care of majority of the work, coding is required for complex transformations.

Right tool in your case: BODS.

Reasons:

1)The Client doesn't have netweaver instances and TDMS, SLT requires a Netweaver instance as per my knowledge and they sit on ABAP stack.

2)You do not require any predefined content by Business Area.

3)Not sure if you want to utilize the database trigger feature of SLT

Coming to your question Client and tenant copy, Ideally one client per tenant may be a good design to segregate the data and also to enforce the security measures for data access.

I don't have much knowledge on HANA database containers..so can't answer

Hope this info helps you.

Thanks,

Rajeev
